Protest Activities and Petitions against Prawer Plan

Next week, Prawer Plan bill is about to be discussed at the Knesset Legislation Committee, in order to decide which Knesset committee will be in charge on preparing it to the next vote.

  • On Monday, July 15, a general strike will take place around the Negev, and at 10 am, a march will start from BGU (the Soroka gate), to the Negev Center (in front of the offices of the Authority of the Regulation of Bedouin Settlement in the Negev) – where a big rally against the plan will be held. In addition, protest activities will be held all around the country (Click Here for details on Facebook – in Hebrew).

Member of NCF’s Board, Khalil Alamour, Participates in the UN Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Jeneva

These days, Khalil Alamour, member of NCF’s board and member of the committee of the Bedouin unrecognized village of Al-Sira, participates at the annual conference of the UN Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Jeneva.

During his visit, Alamour already presented NCF’s statement toward the Prawer Plan and the ongoing legislation process of its bill, he held an event about the plan for the participants of the conference, representatives of indigenous people from all around the world and experts, and had two important private meetings, one with Prof. James Anaya, the UN special rapporteur on the rights of indigenous people, and the other with Anna Magdalena Rosch, the Austrian Parliament’s representative at the UN, Alamour asked them both to join the struggle against the plan.

Invitation to NCF’s Arab-Jewish annual iftar

Adding new NCF members and membership fees

The NCF activities requires a lot of human and financial resources, we will be pleased to welcome new volunteers, to add more members and of course, to receive donations. The decision to join NCF demands short amount:

Membership fees for one person: 40 NIS, for family: 60 NIS. People who would like to join but cannot pay this amount are welcome to pay the amount they are capable of.

If you do not want to join NCF but interested in donating, you are welcome to do so!!

The Photo-Exhibition “Recognized” – a Selection of Photographs by the Children of A-Sir – is Now Open in Jaffa and Lod

We invite you to view the exhibition “Recognized”, a collection of photos taken by the children of the Bedouin unrecognized village of A-Sir, near Be’er-Sheva Prison. The children participated in a photography project which documented the life in the village, held by Negev Coexistence Forum in cooperation with the village’s committee and volunteer photographers during January 2013.

You can find the exhibition in Jaffa – at the Arab-Hebrew Theatre in Jaffa (10 Mifratz Shlomo St.) until the end of July.

And in Lod –  at Noam Center, Ramat Eshkol Neighborhood, 7 Mahane Kafrisin St.

The village of Al-Arakib was demolished on Wednesday, June 19th, for the 49th time. Join the weekly protest of the village of Al-Arakib, every Sunday at 4:30 pm at Lehavim junction, in solidarity with the residents of the village, to protest against the demolition policy of the government.

Demolitions

08-05-24 - Wādī al-Khālīl, an unrecognized village near Shoket Junction, was entirely demolished. Only one house remains above the ruins, and it has received a demolition order.

01-04-24 - 28.03 – Wādī al-Khālīl is an unrecognized village near Shoket Junction: A house was demolished and its residents were asked to relocate to a different city.

All Demolitions
