NCF Board of Directors

NCF Board of Directors:

  • Adel al-Gafeer – Bedouin activist and a project manager with the Bedouin Regional Council of al-Kassum. Resides in the unrecognized villages of Wadi an-Naam.
  • Dr. Yones Abu Rabia – Diabetes specialist and a Bedouin activist. He is also the chair of Yasmin Al Naqab.
  • Hanan Alsana – Attorney and long time Bedouin women activist. Headed a hotline in Be’er Sheva and the center for Bedouin women’s rights for “Itah Ma’aki – women lawyers for social justice”.
  • Khalil Alamour – Member of the as-Sirrah village committee; cofounder of the Regional Council of Unrecognized Villages (RCUV) in the Negev; educator; activist for Bedouin rights in the Negev. Resides in the unrecognized village of as-Sirrah.
  • Prof. Avner Ben Amos – Historian of education and lecturer at the School of Education, Tel-Aviv University.
  • Sarit Helman – Associate Prof. of Sociology at Ben Gurion University of the Negev (retired), long time peace and human rights activist. 
  • Yaakov Manor – Peace activist; founder of The Committee Against House Demolition, Coalition of Organizations for Peace, The Water Coalition and Olive Harvest Coalition. 
  • Sabrine Abu Khaf – Committee member.

 

Members of the Control Committee:

  • Nasser Abu Srihan – Social worker, at the welfare department of the Bedouin regional council of al-Kassum.
  • David De Leeuw – Chair of the control committee, social activist, co-founder of the Negev Coexistence Forum.

Demolitions

14-11-24 - The unrecognized village of Umm al-Ḥīrān was entirely demolished and evacuated.

08-05-24 - Wādī al-Khālīl, an unrecognized village near Shoket Junction, was entirely demolished. Only one house remains above the ruins, and it has received a demolition order.
