NCF appealed to the Prime Minister Urging to Withdrawal Prawer Plan, Read Doron Almog’s Response

The NCF board members appealed to the Prime Minister, urging him to withdrawal Prawer Plan, which will force 30-40 thousand Bedouin citizens to move into townships and will violate their rights. A response to the letter came from Doron Almog, which was appointed as the head of the implementation headquarters of the plan. In his response, Almog writes that the plan actually started already, on 2012, and is scheduled to be fully implemented on 2016. In addition, he claims that the plan will “bring a new era of development of the Negev area, for all its residents”, “will assist Bedouin to escape from their hard condition”, and “will give them hope for better lives”. It is important to note that in the future, the plan will move 30-40 thousands of Bedouin from their villages and that the plan bill has not been approved yet by the Israeli Parliament.

Protest against Prawer Plan

On May 6th, the Ministerial Legislation Committee approved Prawer Plan, and it was decided to put it up to vote in the Knesset, which means that every moment, Prawer Plan might become an actual law.

NCF holds a protest in front of the “Administration for the Regulation of Bedouin Settlement in the Negev” offices in Be’er-Sheva (corner of Rager and Metzada St.) every Monday, at 5 pm.

We invite organizations and activists to join the protest until we’ll stop the plan.
