The popular committee of Al-Araqib "Recognition Forum" Invites you to a day of olive tree planting in the village

The event open for families and their children

Saturday, 13.2.2010 at 10:30

Upon completing the planting we will have a tour at the KKL-JNF working site and meet with residents of the village.
Arrival to the event will be by private vehicles

meeting places: meeting place in Tel-Aviv: 09:00 AM at the El Al terminal, Arlozorov train station.
meeting place in the Negev: 10:30 at the Lehavim Intersection (going South).

Background information:
Following the transfer of the residents of Al-Araqib from their land, at the beginning of the 50's, tens of thousands of dunams of the village land was confiscated by the state. Part of the land was recently leased to KKL, for afforestation. That is in spite of the fact that some of the land ownership claims is been discussed in court.

Last week a planting event was held by KKL-JNF in Al-Araqib in ahich over 1,000 people participated.

LET US ALL COME THIS SATURDAY – TO PLANT OLIVE TREES, TO SUPPORT THE RESIDENTS OF AL-ARAQIB AND TO PROTEST AGAINST THE ROBBERY COMMITED AGAINST THEM.

While KKL-JNF plant thorny trees to keep the Bedouin residents away, we will plant olive trees to mark the Al-Araqib village.
